Megan Anna Rapinoe was born on the 5th of July, 1985, in Redding California. In her teens she started playing soccer. Rachael was her fraternal sister. The magicJack was third that year after Rapinoe's two goals. MagicJack disbanded towards the end of 2011, while WPS folded early in 2012. Rapinoe was part of Sydney Football Club FC in the Australian W-League for a couple games prior to her return to America. In 2012, the Seattle Washington Sounders Women, now Sound FC, were her the next team. In 2013, Rapinoe spent her time doing soccer with France. Then she joined with Seattle Reign FC now OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL which had formed after the WPS split up. Rapinoe was one of their best scorers, and eventually became the captain. In Rio the U.S. lost in the quarterfinals. The first time Rapinoe played in the FIFA Women's World Cup was in 2011. Rapinoe's contributions enabled the U.S. Women's World Cup to win two consecutive titles in the years 2019 and 2015. She was named cocaptain in the year 2018. Two goals by Rapinoe's were a in a four-three United States victory against Australia in the Olympics in 2020 Tokyo. Japan, however had to wait until 2021 after the COVID-19 virus had passed.
